Michigan has taken quite a hit in the last several years. A big chunk of the population has left due to the economical down turn since 2009. That really hasn't put a stop to the creative output in the entertainment / sporting world here. There have been some bright spots especially the new tax structure that has let major movie producers / studio's take advantage and start to do more work in Michigan.

Coamerica ParkFor those of you who are not familiar with Metro Detroit or Michigan in general, there is a lot to see and do. Besides having four major sports franchises here [Tigers, Lions, Pistons and Red Wings], Detroit does have many historical sites and landmarks. Home to Chrysler, Ford and GM; Detroit has always been referred to as the Motor City. You can take in almost any type of entertainment on any given night. Metro Detroit is home to many venues, such as The Palace of Auburn Hills, DTE Energy Music Theatre, Meadowbrook Music Festival, Pontiac Silverdome, Joe Louis Arena , Cobo Hall, Fox Theatre, Masonic Auditorum, Freedom Hill and Chene Park to name a few. Some down sides to Metro Detroit; 1.) No major public transportation in place, 2.) No real downtown shopping district and 3.) Hollywood doesn't think of Detroit as a major player in the world of entertainment. Detroit doesn't always get the latest movie release's, until after they have been distributed for a while. You won't find to many Premiere's here.
